Nasty Habit IPA Review

I absolutely love it when new beers that I have never heard of appear on the shelves at LCBO without me hearing about it because this creates a small and pleasant surprise. Nasty habit IPA is one of those surprises of the weekend. At 650 mL the surprise is even better.

Being an IPA, Nasty Habit is deep amber in color with some light walnut tones. It pours with a short, creamy and lacy head which recedes in minutes leaving an off-white ring around the edges of the glass. It is biscuity and very aromatic with a lot of hops on the nose and subtle sweet aromas. The taste is excellent with the aromatic hops jumping right out and taking over the taste buds to create a bittersweet experience which lasts well beyond the hoppy finish. A very distant metallic hint dings the taste a little, but doesn't hurt the overall beer experience. The higher alcohol content cannot be tasted, but certainly can be felt by the end of the bottle.

Scores:
Cost - $5.90 for a 650 mL beer
Taste - 8.5/10

Overall - 8.5/10...great new addition to the LCBO IPA offers
