Amsterdam Spring Bock Review

I got this lovely bottle shortly after LCBO started to release their spring selection. I haven't gotten into bocks, as you can see from the lack of bock reviews, but I decided it is time. A bottle of the Springbock retails for $3.95, not a bank buster considering the higher ABV, but definitely good beer territory.

The beer has a dark brown color with subtle red hues. It pours with a thin tan head, which quickly recedes to a ring around the edges of the glass. The aroma is pretty decent with a lot of malt and chocolate and raisins. The taste is of roasted malt with very subtle chocolate and sweet raisin notes which come in fairly late, right before the finish. The finish, is a touch bitter and dry with the same roasted malt flavours, but a bit more of the chocolate and raisins. The 7% ABV is very well concealed and overall the beer is very easy to drink. I liked it and will consider buying it again.

Scores:
Cost - $3.95 for a 500 mL bottle
Taste - 7.7/10
ABV - 7%

Overall - 7.8/10...I just feel like giving this an extra 0.1
