Zywiec Beer Review

Today I am trying Zywiec, a Polish beer which I have heard good things about. It is priced at $2.45 CAD at LCBO, which is not bad because you are getting 500 mL of it. Its alcohol content is slightly higher than other similar beers at 5.5% but not high enough for this to be labeled as strong beer.

The beer is deep gold in color and pours with a short head leaving virtually no lacing. It has a clear barley smell and a very hoppy taste. The finish is on the bitter note and slightly dry at first. A pleasant hoppy aftertaste lingers for a while. On the negative side, by the end of the bottle I was detecting a slight, unpleasant skunk taste, similar to the one you get from a cheap lager. For that I have to shave some points off, but this is still a great, bold tasting beer with a relatively low price.

Scores:
Cost - $2.45 CAD for a 500 mL bottle
Taste - 7.6/10

Overall - 7.6/10...not a bad beer to have around, it is not something most people have tried and it is not too expensive to share with friend. It is, however, nothing too spectacular
