Georg Schneider's Wiesen Edel-Weisse Review

Something new appeared on the LCBO shelves and I had to get it and try it. This is G. Schneider's Wiesen Edel-Weisse beer and is organic. I love the label color, which is also the reason why I bought the beer. I paid $3.25 for it, which is pricey, but not too bad since this beer is 6.2% ABV.

As expected, the beer is cloudy and has a honey amber color and pours with a short to medium head. The aroma is quite pleasant with sweet notes of honey, citrus and a bit of spicy malt. The taste is pretty solid with the same citrus notes making their way to the taste-buds. Some of the honey sweetness also finds its way, but makes way for the slightly dry, warm and hoppy finish. The higher alcohol content is masked nicely and the only way you can notice it, is through the warmth of the finish or the buzz you get by the time you finish the bottle.

Scores:
Cost - $3.25 CAD for a 500 mL bottle
Taste - 7.6/10

Overall - 7.6/10...I am not the biggest fan of wheat beers, but this is alright with its honey sweet aroma and taste and the warm, hoppy finish
