Edelweiss Weissbier Review

I am finally back home after some traveling to the US and in Ontario and one of the first things I did was visit the largest local LCBO to see what new things they have to offer me. Edelweiss is back on the shelves for the low price of $1.95 CAD for a 330 mL bottle. I will call this a cheap beer because you do get something more unique for a low price.

The beer is cloudy and pale golden in color and pours with a short, almost non-existent head. The aroma is typical for white beers but with a twist of cloves and herbs. The taste is dominated by cloves with notes of herbs and citrus making their way through. The mouth-feel is medium and creamy. The finish is medium to long, slightly dry, bears the taste the cloves and some hops. I love getting this beer every time it comes back to the LCBO, it is one of my favourite white beers. The wheat taste is not as strong as with some other similar beers and can be a great way to introduce a complete stranger to the world of white beers.

Scores:
Cost - $1.95 CAD for a 330 mL bottle
Taste - 7.9/10

Overall - 8/10...I give it an extra 0.1 for the low price/enjoyment ratio
