Samuel Adams Summer Ale Review
I have been drinking these for a couple of weeks now and I think it is time to review one. I get the 6 packs from LCBO for $13.55 which is not so bad.
The beer is slightly cloudy and golden in color. It pours with a very short, little lacy head. It has an inviting citrus aroma with some spicy and herbal notes and a touch of clove. It has a medium mouth-feel and the taste is quite refreshing on a hot summer night...or day. It starts off like a typical wheat ale, but citrus notes quickly appear and blow up. Some herbal and clove notes can be detected as well as a little bit of spiciness. The finish is medium, citrusy and hoppy with subtle herbal hints. Very refreshing and well balanced beer even for those who do not enjoy wheat beers.
Scores:
Cost - $13.55 for a 6-pack
Taste - 7.7/10
Overall - 7.7/10...light, refreshing and addictive
