Today I am trying one of Trafalgar's seasonal beers - the Smoked Oatmeal Stout, which came to the LCBO a couple of weeks ago this year.
The beer has a very dark brown, almost black color and pours smoothly with no head. The aroma reminds me of the campfire we had this past weekend and all the stuff we grilled. In addition to the smokey character, chocolate, coffee and roasted malt can also be noticed. The taste is pretty decent with an initial blast of coffee/chocolate and a smokey, roasted finish. On the negative side, the beer is a little too thin for a stout, but at least it goes down very smoothly.
