When I first saw this beer, I honestly thought that there might be a touch of oysters to the taste or something salty...so was there? Find out below.
Being a stout, the beer is black in color with some dark brown tones near the edges when held up to a light. It pours with almost no head, just a tan ring. The aroma is of roasted malt with a touch of dried fruit sweetness and notes of coffee and chocolate. It is mildly carbonated with a roasted malt and caramel flavour with subtle coffee and chocolate notes. There is a bit of sweetness in the finish which resembles dried fruits. The finish is bittersweet with just a hint of hops, mostly roasted malt and touches of coffee. The label says "dark, rich, smooth", but I think it is only dark...not completely smooth or very rich, but it is pretty damn good overall.
