Muskoka Summer Weiss 2011 Review

Summer is here! Oh, wait, no it is not. At least Muskoka's new beer, Summer Weiss, is here with an amazingly attractive orange/yellow label.

For a wheat beer, Summer Weiss has a typical hazy, golden color and pours with a short head which recedes shortly. The aroma is also very typical with cloves, orange peel and sweet malty notes. The taste continues to exhibit typical characteristics with a lot of spices and citrus. The typical characters stop here though. The finish has some hops with a sweet caramel hint and a touch of banana in addition to the cloves and citrus. This is a fairly easy sipper that would be great with a splash of orange juice or an orange wedge on a warm spring/summer day.

Muskoka have come out with some amazing seasonal beers, and this is no exception. Highly recommended if you enjoy wheat beers.

Scores:
Cost - $5.95 for a 750 mL bottle
Taste - 8.6/10
ABV - 5%

Overall - 8.6/10...great seasonal beer from Muskoka
