Wells Banana Bread Beer Review
Here is one of the new LCBO beers - Wells's Banana Bread Beer, and for $3.50 one could be yours.
The beer is golden in color and pours with almost no head. It does have a very mellow, sweet banana scent, which is neither too intense nor too weak. It is easily comparable to that of banana bread...the center of it of course. The banana scent is not all, some sweet malt is also noticeable and about as strong. The taste is pretty decent and actually very similar to real banana bread with some malty tones. The finish is malty, with just a touch of hops, bananas and a nice citrus twist. The last time I had a beer out of a clear bottle, I ended up disappointed, but this is fresh enough that it tasted pretty good. If you like banana bread, you will definitely get a kick out of this beer.
Scores:
Cost - $3.50
Taste - 7.6/10
ABV - 5.2%
Overall - 7.7/10...gets an extra 0.1 for tasting like real banana bread
