Simple Malt Cascade IPA Review

Yep, you guessed it, this beer is made with cascade hops.

Pours deep amber with light brown and red hues and medium thick, lacy and creamy head. Being made with cascade hops, the aroma is very hoppy and punches you in the face the moment you start pouring the beer. Though overpowered, there are some additional sweet notes and a twist of citrus. The taste is bittersweet to plain bitter, as in, it starts off bittersweet and quickly turns to just bitter. But fear not, this is hoppy bitter, not disgustingly bitter. The sweetness comes from dried fruits and there is even a bit of a roasted malt taste halfway as the flavour morphs. The finish is hoppy, dry and has a nice grapefruit-like note. I loved this beer and only wished I could get it in Ontario, but then again it is very similar to other IPAs that use cascade hops and are available here.

Scores:
Cost - $2.59
Taste - 8.2/10
ABV -6.4%

Overall - 8.2/10...delicious IPA with my favorite hops
