Kensington Brewing Augusta Ale Review

So Augusta Ale is finally out at the LCBO and for $2.50 you can snatch a can rather than try to hunt it down on tap (though I encourage you to try it on tap).

The beer has a copper/amber color and pours with a medium thick, creamy head with a good retention time. The aroma is a nice balance of hops and caramel malt with lightly toasted nuts. The taste is simple yet very delicious. Caramel malt and fruity notes dominate the flavour profile leaving very little room for the hops. Some roasted notes are present, though they don't pick up until towards the finish, which offers a very nice bittersweet balance between the malt and hops...it is also fairly dry.

Though this beer is nothing spectacular or new, I absolutely love it. It is a great session ale and works well in the summer as well as the winter.

Scores:
Cost - $2.50
Taste - 8/10
ABV - 5.5%

Overall - 8.1/10...I give it an extra 0.1 for its drinkability
