Duvel Review

I have been looking for a bottle of Duvel for a very long time and I finally found some. The price, of course, is high - $3.25 for a 330 mL chubby bottle. Boy, I cannot wait to finally use my Duvel glasses properly.

Duvel is pale straw in color and pours with a very thick, creamy head which takes a few minutes to recede. Hints of citrus and a bit of pears and apples with this one. Careful drinking this at first, it is very carbonated. The taste is a bit citrusy and slightly spicy. The finish is hop-bitter and long. Take time enjoying this beer. I once drank it in a very short period of time and did not like it much. Let the finish develop, the wait is rewarding. Drinking it slowly, you will forget that this is a strong beer with 8.5% ABV. Drink it fast, and the taste of alcohol will hit you and you will probably conclude that this is not a good beer.

Scores:
Cost - $3.25 CAD for a 330 mL bottle
Taste - 8.2/10

Overall - 8.2/10...drink it slow
