J.J. McWilliams Shiraz Cabarnet 2008 Review

I am once again sampling a bottle of wine. Today I am drinking an Australian Shiraz, a bottle of which retails for $14.95 CAD at LCBO.

The wine has deep red color with purple hues. The aroma is spicy with zesty hints of berries and currants. The taste is refreshing, but the alcohol comes strong and overpowers the flavours. What remains from the flavour is berries with a touch of cherries and a spicy and warm finish. I found this wine too strong and in the need of some tweaking. One can find better wines at the LCBO for that price and even for much less.

Scores:
Cost - $14.95 CAD for a 750 mL bottle
Taste - 6.7/10

Overall - 6.7/10...refreshing and warm, but the alcohol strength affects the taste
