Grand River Brewing Galt Knife Old Style Lager Review

Well that was a mouthfull - Grand River Brewing Galt Knife Old Style Pre-prohibition Style Lager. I like the Grand River Brewing beers - they are always fresh. This one was bottled only 14 days ago. The one I reviewed here was only 5 days old at the time I had it. The beer is available locally, Cambridge, Ontario, and perhaps in some LCBO stores around the area and it costs $3.00 for 500 mLs.

The beer is dark amber/light brown in color and pours with a medium thick, lacy, off-tan, almost white head. The aroma is amazing, sweet, flowery and very intense. The taste is equally impressive - malty, buscuity and hoppy towards the end. The finish is medium, hoppy, slightly dry and bitter. This was an absolute pleasure to drink. I strongly recommend this beer if you can find it, one of the best locals. It is comparable to some of the best British brews.

Scores:
Cost - $3.00 CAD for a 500 mL bottle
Taste - 8.6/10

Overall - 8.6/10
