William's Sir Perry Berry Strawberry Flavoured Pear Cider Review
I like William's Sir Perry Pear Cider. In fact, it is one of my favorites so when I saw this new addition to the family, I had to get one and try it.
As expected, the cider is light red in color and has a sweet strawberry aroma...though it smells a little fake. The main aroma is still, of course, pears. The taste is not what I expected. It is not good, not good at all. It is sweet and has a very weird and raunchy latex taste. Once that goes away, the strawberries and pears can be tasted, but the overall taste and finish is poor. I hate to say this, but this is just not good. I will stick to the original William's Pear Cider.
Scores:
Cost - $2.85 for a 500 mL can
Taste - 4/10
Overall - 4/10...tastes like a latex glove

I wish I'd read this earlier. Your review is bang on.
ReplyDeleteYou are nuts, its delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'm traditionally a mixed drink (aka sugar loving) kind of girl but this stuff is horrible! The original pear isn't bad but I definitely get the latex flavour out of this stuff.
ReplyDeleteblech!! smells and tastes like those disgusting scented dolls, from my childhood. of course! it was a strawberry shortcake doll with a latex-like face. there you go - this cider can best be described as reminiscent of a cheap, likely toxic, 80s toy. ugh.
ReplyDeletechugging a growers cider to replace the NASTertaste from this inferior product.
ReplyDeletegrowers gross!! U gotta at least go for Okanagan Cider...Yummy. But i do very much enjoy the Sir Perry's pear cider (no berry) you know!! :)
