Alba Scots Pine Ale Review

Going back to my stash of Scottish ales, I have a pine one called Alba. This one is a spruce and pine triple style at 7.5% ABV.

The beer is deep amber with some orange and red hues and pours with an off-white ring. I can't tell if there is pine or spruce from the aroma, which is very sweet with malty and fruity tones. The taste is what gives this beer its pine name. It starts off sweet with some fruity and malty tones and ends on a bittersweet note. The finish is pretty damn good. It is warm, a touch spicy yet sweet and has a long woody tone. The high alcohol content is noticeable but if you take it easy, it will not affect the enjoyment very much.

Scores:
Cost - $10 for a box of 4 random beers
Taste - 7.7/10

Overall - 7.7/10...the finish is what makes this great
