Black Creek Pumpkin Ale Review

Yep, it is that time of the year - pumpkin ales are starting to come out. So far I have seen the latest batch of Grand River's Highballer 2011 and the new Black Creek Pumpkin Ale. I figured I start with the new beer.

The beer has an inviting dark amber color and pours flat with just a thin white ring around the edges of the glass. The aroma is spice heavy with pumpkin and sweet malt. The mouthfeel is watery and the flavour is weaker than the aroma with the sweet malt up front and the spice trailing behind. Some hops are present near the finish. The beer is easy to drink, but seems a bit bland.

Scores:
Cost - $3.95
Taste - 6/10
ABV - 5%

Overall - 6/10...a bit bland but an easy sipper
